Union Gas supports the Government of Ontario’s announcement today of a new $100 million Natural Gas Grant program to improve energy affordability and promote economic development in unserved and underserved regions, including those in northern and rural Ontario, and Indigenous communities.
“Union Gas has been working cooperatively with the Ontario government over the past few years to bring natural gas to northern, rural and Indigenous communities,” said Steve Baker, president, Union Gas. “Today’s announcement of a $100M natural gas grant program will help us move forward on our commitment to bring affordable and clean energy to more communities and families.”
Natural gas is the most efficient and affordable source of energy for homes, businesses and industry and costs significantly less than electricity, propane or oil. The enhanced grant program is meant to provide more affordable energy choices for homes and businesses attract new investments to Ontario and benefit agricultural producers.
