Gathering centre and trunkline system project, Kuwait
PROJECT SUMMARY
Start Date – 2014
End Date – 2017
Client: Kuwait Oil Company
Location: Northern Kuwait
In 2014, Petrofac was awarded a contract by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for gathering centre 29 (GC29) located 70 km north of Kuwait City. The greenfield scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, construction and pre-commissioning and commissioning of GC29.
GC29 is one of three gathering centres being constructed to support KOC’s plans to increase and maintain oil production. Each of the three gathering centres will be capable of producing around 100,000 barrels of oil per day together with associated water and gas.
In 2015, Petrofac was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the manifold group trunkline (MGT) system for GC29 and the two other gathering centres. The MGT system will provide the feedstock to each of the gathering centres via three independent networks of intermediate manifolds and pipelines.
