Mohammad Meshkinfaamannounced the current daily production of South Pars field as 500 million cubic feet meters in the press conferences held on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the company establishment and reported its increase to 550 million cubic feet meters until the current year end (arch 2017) and 600 million cubic feet meters until the next year end (March 2018) which would be equal to the maximum capacity of Qatar extraction from South Pars.
As reported by the public relations of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), the press conference of the director and board members of the company was held by the morning of 20th Dec 2016 on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of company establishment in the conference room of the company.
Pointing to the increase in the production record of gas to 140 million cubic meters per day in the current year, Meshkinfaam told: “the gas production in 2013 was 285 million cubic meters which is increased to 500 million cubic meters that is in fact equal to 66 percent of the natural gas consumption of the country”. He added that the mentioned production capacity would be increased to 515 million cubic feet meters within a few days.
The director of Pars oil and Gas Company stated the clear amount of investment in South Pars development and added: “the total required budget for South Pars has been USD 91 Billion that USD 30.7 Billion of it has been spent in completed projects and USD 60.3 Billion of it is devoted to the developing projects that from this amount also, USD 39 billion is spent and USD 21 billion is considered to bebeing spent in finalizing the remained projects”.
Meshkinfaam announced the cumulative amount of the produced gas in South Pars until the middle of 2015 as 879 billion cubic meters which has the value of more than USD 378 billion. It is estimated that the daily value of South Pars producing products would be USD 272 million while the annual value of the products would be USD 90 billion at the finalstage of itsdevelopmentplans.
In regard to the completed projects of POGC, he told that these projects consisted of: 10 onshore refineries, 25 SPDs, 2400 km of pipeline, 258 wells. It is while 3 onshore refineries, 15 SPDs (considering phase 11), 750 km of pipeline, and 157 wells are going to be completed until the end of March.
Meshkinfaam announced the cooperation with an international consultacy in regard to the solutions considered for South Pars gas pressure drop and stated about Farzad B project that, the differences in the specifications of this field with South Pars field and its complexities were among the important considerations which resulted to the selection and cooperation with the contractor. He also added that the project contract would be determined in no time.
The director of Pars Oil and Gas Company pointed to the importance of prioritizing the development plans and said, with the operationalization of all of the development plans of South Pars except phase 11 by the next year, the production capacity of Iran would become equal to the maximum production capacity of Qatar that based on the limitations that this country suffers from in the export of LNG,the international market ups and downs, and also the 56-inched pipelines of South Pars available for gas transmission to the destination & neighborhood countries, Iran would have the better stance compared to Qatar.
