JDR, a leading supplier of subsea umbilicals and power cables to the global offshore energy industry, is celebrating today after winning the Global Exports category at the Subsea UK Awards for the second consecutive year.
The awards ceremony – hailed as the most prestigious in the subsea sector – took place at the AECC in Aberdeen last night. Attended by over 550 industry professionals, the highly-coveted awards highlight the achievements of individuals and companies throughout the subsea industry, and bring together peers in mutual celebration of the UK’s leading position on the global stage.
JDR took home the Global Exports Award for its successful global exports strategy and its adaptability to foreign markets. The company’s exports to the Middle East and expansion into the Chinese offshore market were key elements of its application. In 2016, the company also expanded its state-of-the-art Hartlepool facility to meet the demands of overseas operations.
David Currie, CEO at JDR, says: “To win this award two years in a row confirms that we are delivering on our global growth strategy. Over the past year, we have continued to secure and deliver a large number of overseas projects and invest in our manufacturing facilities to meet demand. At JDR, we’re positive about the future and will continue to invest in our people, products and services as we move into new markets.”
Carl Pilmer, Global Sales Director at JDR, adds: “This is tremendous recognition of the team’s achievements over the course of the last year. In 2017, we plan to continue our overseas expansion into markets such as Africa and Asia Pacific.”
JDR has also been nominated for two awards at the Northern Powerhouse Export Awards taking place next week in Leeds.
